I am a 34 year-old woman, married and a mother of a beautiful daughter, Lillie. On the 22nd of September 2014, my life changed when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Although from that point it felt as though we were in the middle of a strange and surreal dream, once I had absorbed the news I knew I was going to take control of this before it took control of me. I was determined to approach the future in a positive way and use my journey to help others on a similar path and those who may find themselves in a similar situation in the future. So I decided to write a book about my experiences share the high, lows, experiences and lessons of my journey including exercise, health, diet and beauty and hair tips in hope I can help and inspire many women through their battle with cancer.
When I was diagnosed with cancer I was determined that if it was always going to be a part of my life I wanted it to be a positive and a happy memory and this has been my mission throughout. I have done this by setting up a Facebook page called Sarah’s story- beating breast cancer one day at a time, sharing each step of my journey as well as a Facebook group called the butterfly cancer networking group, so women going through cancer can chat with each, offering support and advice. I organise themed events every couple of months to bring women together to socialise and have fun whilst raising money for different cancer charities and am currently promoting my story through speaking at events, radio stations and the local news to create awareness.
